Microsoft announces Windows Embedded for Point of Service

Today at the Retail Systems 2005 Conference & Exposition, Microsoft announced the worldwide availability of its new Windows Embedded for Point of Service software platform. WEPOS is a version of Windows XP with Service Pack 2 optimized for retail point of service (POS) devices.

    Did anybody realize that you pronounce WEPOS as “we pause”, which is a better explanation of their Longhorn development efforts.
